ADecreeoncreationoffiveOlympicTrainingCenters, oneofwhichwasaCyclingOlympicTrainingCenter, wassignedaccordingtotheGovernmentResolutionoftheRepublicofKazakhstan №359 dated May 4, 2007.

CyclingOlympictrainingcenterhas been enteringits employment in Taldykorgan since July 1, 2007.

The purpose of the Cycling Olympic Training Center is to train youth, junior national teams of Kazakhstan on cycling, to use sports facilities and equipment in order to stimulate large-scale participation in sports, to organize and arrange a year-round training of sports reserve and national sports teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan andto provide services for sports organizations and citizens.

In 2014 Cycling Olympic Training Center administration transferred from Taldykorgan to the building of the Republican velodrome in Astana.

Republican velodrome was built according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N2 111 dated May 4, 2006 «On the State Program of Social and Economic Development of Astana for 2006-2011».

Republican velodrome is a unique sports venue in the shape of the cyclist’s helmet – has already been recognized as one of the most original sports facilities. It was put into service in November 20, 2012. The total area of the velodrome is 44 957 sq.m.and 1195 seats. The velodrome includes the indoor track, ice-skating rink, hotel, restaurant, fitness center, office units, conference halls, boxing halls, gymnastics hall, playing court and outdoor mini football pitches.
